This is true for many companies, especially those who burnt their lists and did not conduct campaigns according to best practices using legitimate tools and means. However, people sending mass email for receipts, invoices, sales follow ups and other general means of email communications are reaping large conversions and delivery rewards! It IS more expensive, but the ROI is high if you invest properly. Email isn't just for newsletters anymore. Never was actually! I have customers earning millions using email as a viable biz comm tool.
