Mississauga Web Design

Mississauga was incorporated as a city in 1974, and at the time of the last census in 2006 registered a population of 668,549 people, making it Canada's sixth largest city. Mississauga is part and parcel to the Greater Toronto Area, and is located within the boundaries of the Regional Municipality of Peel Ontario.

Mississauga is now the fastest growing city in Canada, and it has doubled its population over the course of the past two decades. Mississauga has seen the benefits of prudent government policies that have the city debt free; it hasn't borrowed money since 1970.

One of the many distinct features of Mississauga is its status as a major transportation hub with seven major highways passing through it.  These highways link the city to major destinations in both the U.S. And Canada. Mississauga is also the home of Toronto Pearson International Airport, which is the busiest airport in Canada.

Another soon to be crowning point of Mississauga is "Absolute World", which is a unique 50 story condominium complex that is the result of an international design competition that was held in 2006. Mississauga is recognized as one of the largest corporate financial districts in Canada due to the fact that a large number of major international corporations have chosen Mississauga to base their Canadian operations.

The modern history of Mississauga begins with the arrival of the first Europeans in the 1600s who encountered Iroquois and Algonquin speaking peoples occupying the lush Credit River Valley area. The actual name "Mississauga" is derived from the nation of people that were the dominant tribe in the region when Europeans first arrived.

For the next century Mississauga experienced steady growth.  The Malton Airport was built in 1937 and it quickly became recognized as Canada's busiest, and this is now the site of the Toronto Pearson International Airport.
